আমাদের জীবনে কিছু বই থাকে, যেগুলো কেবল পড়া নয়—আশ্রয়। মন খারাপের দিনে, নিঃসঙ্গ মুহূর্তে, সেই বইই হয়ে ওঠে আলোর মতো।
Some books are more than paper and ink—they become a refuge. On heavy days, we return to them for light and warmth.
📖 গল্প (বাংলা)
রিমার জীবনে বই মানেই ছিল এক আশ্রয়। ছোটবেলায় যখন সে একা থাকত, বা মন খারাপ হতো, তখন বইয়ের পাতাই হয়ে উঠত তার সেরা বন্ধু। তার সবচেয়ে প্রিয় বই হলো “পথের পাঁচালী”। প্রথমবার যখন সে বইটা হাতে পেয়েছিল, তখন হয়তো সে খুব ছোট—কিন্তু চরিত্রগুলো যেন জীবন্ত হয়ে উঠেছিল তার চোখে। অপু আর দুর্গার কষ্ট, তাদের ছোট ছোট স্বপ্ন—এসব পড়তে পড়তে রিমার মনে হতো, সে যেন তাদের সাথেই হাঁটছে গ্রামের কাঁচা রাস্তায়।
বছরের পর বছর কেটে গেছে, রিমা আরও অনেক বই পড়েছে—বিদেশি সাহিত্য, সমকালীন উপন্যাস, সায়েন্স ফিকশন। তবুও “পথের পাঁচালী”-এর পাতার সেই আবেগ তাকে আজও ছুঁয়ে যায়। যখনই জীবন কঠিন হয়ে ওঠে, সে আবার বইটা খুলে বসে। পরিচিত লাইনগুলো যেন বলে—“কষ্ট থাকবেই, কিন্তু আশা হারানো যাবে না।”
🌍 Story (English)
For Rima, books were a sanctuary. As a child, whenever she felt lonely or blue, pages became her closest companions. Her favorite book is Pather Panchali. The first time she read it, she was little, yet the characters came alive—Apu’s innocence, Durga’s fragile dreams. While reading, she felt as if she was walking beside them down the dusty village lanes.
Years passed; she devoured modern fiction, global classics, and science fiction. Still, the tenderness of Pather Panchali never left her. Whenever life grew heavy, she would open the book again. The familiar lines seemed to whisper, “Hardships will come, but do not lose hope.”
📝 বিবেচনা / Reflection
প্রিয় বই আসলে জীবনের মানচিত্র—যেখানে আমরা নিজেদের হারিয়ে আবার খুঁজে পাই। যে বই বারবার ফিরিয়ে আনে আশার কথা, সেটিই আমাদের কাছে প্রিয় হয়ে ওঠে।
A favorite book maps our inner life—we get lost and found within it. The one that returns us to hope becomes our dearest companion.
